Memphis has some great attractions for all ages – such as the new Northwest Passage at the Memphis Zoo featuring animals of the great Northwest. The Memphis Zoo is one of only four in the U.S. that has giant Pandas from China. Children love the Fire Museum where even the smallest toddler can climb onto a full-sized fire engine and slide down a fire pole. Our Pink Palace Museum with its I-Max Theatre is a local family favorite and everybody enjoys watching the ducks strut down the red carpet in the elegant lobby of the Peabody Hotel.

Memphis is a music city and has a choice of museums reflecting rich music history as well as African-American heritage. Memphis truly has something for all ages including children with a visit to the Memphis Zoo, the Fire Museum and the Pink Palace Museum.

Student Tours

Our most popular Memphis tour for students emphasizes both Memphis history and the moder-day city. During approximately six hours, guides will point out major sites as well as give commentary on Memphis through the years. Teachers are supplied with a quiz to supplement the tour and answers will be given during the tour.

Lunch at a restaurant can be arranged, but students usually bring a sack lunch and enjoy a picnic at Martyrs’ Park. Stops are also made at St. Jude, the Tennessee Welcome Center and Beale Street. Students look forward to purchasing their hat at A. Schwabs’ on Beale St. Some say it is the highlight of their trip!

The following sites are included in addition to the planned stops:

  • Victorian Village
  • Medical Center
  • Pyramid National
  • Civil Rights Museum
  • Peabody Hotel
  • Cotton Row
  • Memphis Rock ‘N’ Soul Museum
  • Gibson Guitar Factory

During the Beale Street stop, students see Elvis Presley Plaza, Handy Park and the Blues Walk of Fame. Costs are determined by the number of students and available transportation.
