Carolyn became a tour guide in April of 1985 just as Randy Travis became the new best thing in country music. Growing up in Nashville she was rocking around the clock and over Blueberry Hill and would not have crossed the street to see those ole hillbilly country stars. But in 1979 she was lied to, cheated on and her husband ran off with another woman. Only then did she realize what Loretta and Tammy were singing about. Passion and pride for Tennessee and its place in American Music history keep Carolyn coming back each week to the best job she has ever had…a Nashville tour guide.

Being a tour guide is the most fun job I’ve ever had! When I think about it, I realize my life has been preparing me for this all along. I’ve worked in many areas of business, but the jobs I’ve enjoyed the most were the ones that allowed to me work with people. Prior to my retirement I was a senior Customer Account Rep for an international manufacturing company. Nashville is my home and I love telling our visitors all about this beautiful, vibrant city. Penny LangenTour Guide
Penny is a native Nashvillian and absolutely loves sharing Nashville with our out-of- town guests! A Broadcasting major and former dancer and choreographer, she began her career at the Opryland Hotel doing lights and production for the various shows. She also performed herself in numerous convention shows, industrials and videos. Although not thrilled about the dramatic increase in traffic that a growing city must deal with, she is excited that her hometown is becoming a major destination point for so many people. “The dramatic growth we’ve experienced in just the last 5 years is incredible! There is so much to do in Nashville and surrounding areas. The weather is terrific, we get to experience all four seasons and the people are sooooo nice! There is no shortage of southern charm in Nashville and that’s why so many people flock here to visit and live.” Penny would be honored to be your tour guide!
